From the Bride:
We wanted our wedding to feel easy & intimate with a touch of whimsy – definitely no fuss; which ironically could describe our relationship. We basically pared it down to what was important to us and didn’t bother with anything that is “expected” at a wedding, just because it’s the norm. We were married on a Monday afternoon. We didn’t send out invites or save-the-dates, it was more of a word of mouth approach and we let everyone know ahead of time there would be no reception and not to worry if they couldn’t make it. In all, the people who really wanted to be there, were there. After the ceremony everyone had pizza from Grimaldi’s and rode the carousel as many times as they wanted.
We knew we didn’t want to spend a ton of money on the wedding (we preferred to spend it on the honeymoon) but we knew we wanted someplace outdoors (bonus: better pictures) and we didn’t want a conventional wedding location. When I came across Jane’s Carousel as a potential location online I was immediately sold and so was Pete. It fit our personalities perfectly. Pete’s father passed away just 3 months before our wedding so he wore one of his father’s ties in his honor.
