Many young couples are opting out of the traditional wedding option and choosing to host small, intimate and well-designed elopements. I have loved the shift towards this new trend, because the intimacy of a wedding with less than ten people present, is monumental. It allows them to speak truer, bolder vows and let their emotions sweep them through the day.
That’s exactly how Kari & Scott’s Los Angeles elopement was. They wanted a relaxed day, not to be overwhelmed by guests or plans. The design of the day was LA Luxury – simple, clean and modern with personal touches throughout. Scott wore a vintage tie from his grandfather’s collection and Kari styled her own hair and bridal bouquet.
The two were married in a family member’s Mid-Century style home in the hills of Los Angeles, which provided a backdrop of quirky furniture pieces and paintings full of personality. In lieu of a cake, Kari & Scott opted for custom donuts that spelled out “Now & Forever”. At sunset, the newlyweds shared a champagne toast on the deck. This was such a special event to be a part of, the whole day was marked by joy and meaning.
